SEATTLE, Wash. — The Detroit Red Wings began their first long road swing of the season in Seattle with two roster questions still unanswered: what happens with center Dylan Larkin, and whether defenseman Simon Edvinsson will sign.
Larkin’s request to be moved, which goes back to the end of last season, has not been withdrawn despite the club’s efforts. His no-trade clause gives him input on any destination. Through five games he had managed only an assist, after posting a goal and an assist in his season debut, and home fans booed him again during the Oct. 17 win.
Edvinsson, a restricted free agent, has yet to play this season. He and his agent sat down with interim general manager Shawn Horcoff in person, according to an NHL insider, but no deal came out of the meeting and there is no formal trade request on record. Horcoff has said he has no interest in dealing the young defenseman.
