TOLEDO, Ohio — Michigan State women’s basketball leaves home for the first time this season Saturday, Nov. 7, when the Spartans meet Toledo at Savage Arena. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
The Spartans are 1-0 after beating Valparaiso 98-44 on Nov. 3, a game in which four players reached double figures. Sophomore guard Amy Terrian led the way with 15 points off the bench, and eight newcomers or first-time contributors got their first minutes in green and white.
Toledo is 0-1. The Rockets let a late lead slip in their opener on Monday and fell 61-57 to Louisiana Tech. Ella Weaver scored 14 points with three made threes, and Kendall Carruthers added 13.
It will be the first time in 23 years that the Rockets have hosted Michigan State. The series is close, with Toledo holding a 4-3 edge in seven previous meetings. The last one came in the 2018 postseason WNIT in East Lansing, and the Spartans won it.
Michigan State also brings a preseason watch list guard in Kennedy Blair, a second-team All-Big Ten pick last season who averaged 5.2 assists a game. After Saturday, Toledo stays home to face Youngstown State on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
