LANSING, Mich. — Drivers on the north side of Lansing should plan for detours through Sunday as the Michigan Department of Transportation closes a handful of US-127 ramps off and on for paving.
The closures cover the Grand River Avenue entrance to northbound US-127, the northbound exit to Lake Lansing Road and the Lake Lansing Road entrance going north. Northbound connections to eastbound and westbound I-69 are also part of the work.
The paving is part of the rebuild of US-127 from just south of Lake Lansing Road to I-69, which the state expects to finish this month. That job includes sound walls, bridge repairs, new drainage and signs. Since mid-August, traffic in the zone has been shifted to the northbound side of the highway.
Next up, the state plans to rebuild and realign US-127 between I-496 and Lake Lansing Road, with construction expected to start in spring 2027 and last about three years. Officials urge drivers to follow detour signs and allow extra time.
