LIVERPOOL, England — Defending Premier League champion Arsenal can climb to first place Sunday if it leaves Anfield without a loss, while Liverpool needs a win to get back ahead of Chelsea. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m. local time, or 11:30 a.m. Eastern.

Arsenal sits second, level with Manchester City on goal difference, after City fell to Brighton on Saturday. Mikel Arteta’s team arrives looking to bounce back from a midweek League Cup upset against fourth-tier Fleetwood.

Liverpool slipped to fifth when Chelsea won Saturday. Andoni Iraola’s side has gone five matches without a loss in all competitions, the latest a League Cup win over Chelsea decided by penalties.

History leans toward the home side. Arsenal has not won in its last 13 league trips to Anfield, with five draws and eight defeats since a 2-0 victory in the 2012-13 season, and a 14th straight unbeaten home league match against the Gunners would be a Liverpool club record. Liverpool has also won all nine games it has played at Anfield on Nov. 1.

Both defenses have been stingy. Arsenal shares the league lead with five clean sheets this season and has allowed the fewest shots on target. Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has six goals in his last six league games.

Last season, Liverpool won 1-0 at Anfield and the two clubs drew 0-0 in London.
