EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., has picked Mike Polisky to run Spartan Ventures and serve as a deputy athletics director, Athletics Director Dan Bartholomae announced Friday.
Spartan Ventures is the athletic department arm built to handle revenue generation and business operations. As its chief executive, Polisky is charged with carrying out the group’s strategy, growing both current and new income sources and tightening operations to support Spartan teams. Bartholomae called it a critical moment for the department.
In the deputy role, Polisky will be the main sport administrator for football and men’s golf and will lead several units across the department.
Polisky grew up in Chicago and graduated from the University of Iowa. Since 2021 he has worked as a top executive at Intersport, a sports marketing company, and a year later he also became head of the Association of Pickleball Professionals.
Before that he spent 11 years at Northwestern, overseeing its brand, ticketing, sponsorships and media relations. He was promoted to athletic director there in May 2021 and stepped down days later amid a lawsuit over the cheerleading program that was dismissed in 2024 with no settlement payment.
